Member with Special Responsibility for Services for Older People.

I was born in Brightlingsea and was a pupil at the local schools, part of the House family.  I have two daughters and a son and run a local business.
As MSR for Welfare Services to the Elderly I liaise with the local authorities and groups, building relationships with them and have been able to obtain information and aids to make life easier for several elderly residents.
I have also obtained grants for pensioners clubs who were finding it difficult to keep open, this has now ensured the running costs for the next year, and hopefully beyond.

Tendring Report from Councillor Jayne Chapman

I attended a Human Resources committee meeting on Tuesday 5th July.  This was to discuss the new Paternity and maternity policies and the new anti bullying policy for T.D.C. although most of what was discussed is now law.

Martins Farm Recycling Centre

To help maintain facilities and services a letter has been sent to Councillor Bentley as follows:

"County Councillor Kevin Bentley
Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling

Dear Councillor Bentley

Re: Martins Farm Recycling Centre

Councillor Jayne Chapman and I, in our capacity as Town and District Councillors representing Brightlingsea, have consulted with our community, Town and District Councillors, and also the District Council Portfolio Holder for the Environment, regarding the above.

We have only identified one person who is in favour of the total closure.  In view of our consultations, we would urge you to form a partnership with Tendring District Council and Brightlingsea Town Council to maintain this facility and service.  We would only be too pleased to meet with you to discuss a positive way forward.

Yours sincerely

Councillor Graham Steady and Councillor Jayne Chapman"
