Junction of Footpath 24 and 25
On the Definitive map there is no right of way going eastwards from that junction.  The owner of the land is putting up a sign to say ‘no right of way’.  Therefore members of the public
are not entitled to walk eastwards along the Seawall.

An open meeting was held on Wednesday 23rd November 2011 to discuss footpaths in Brightlingsea. A number of issues were raised and alot of volunteers put their names forward to help with the survey of the conditions of the footpaths, which will take place shortly.

Report from Councillor Elizabeth Edey
This month I hope I have resolved an inherited problem from last year.  The land owner, Jason Botelho (Footpath Officer with ECC) and I have agreed a course of action.  A notice about this has been published on the Town Council website.

I have submitted my work proposals for the year to Jason Botelho.  These include:-

1.    A full survey of all the footpaths.  I plan this for April 2012 with the help of as many agents as possible, in the town. e.g. 4Youth, Ramblers and other keen walkers.
2    Attend relevant training myself - on Law & Enforcement, First Aid etc.
3.    Make contact with the P3 group and appoint a Brightlingsea representative.
4.    Update leaflets on walks in town and the Nature Reserves.
