Member with Special Responsibility for the Western Promenade. Report from Cllr V Chapman CCTV - Terry and I have a had a meeting with GCS to discuss the CCTV, and what type of camera and tower will be provide. We looked at the site and the source of power, with the possibility of it not having to travel as far as is envisaged at the moment. A further report will be made on Thursday at the meeting. FUN FAIR - One of the vehicles demolished the level crossing gates at Thorrington by going through them while the amber light was flashing. The gates came down and he had to go somewhere so continued through the closed gates! The PCSO also said another vehicle had narrowly missed a bollard in the centre of the road. I saw another vehicle mounting the pavement as it was turned into the site and someone told me they had to leap out of the way as another vehicle rounded a corner. This is not a very good advertisement for them or us.
PARKING FOR PYFLEET WEEK – The Sailing Club has asked for similar arrangements to the ones we agreed last year. T.D.C. are quite happy with these, so I hope I can have your approval too. BEACH HUT ASSOCIATION AGM - I was asked to speak at the meeting, and included the CCTV situation, the Warden’s patrol times, the flooding at the back of some of the beach huts, etc. Questions were raised on various issues, including dogs on leads, signage, etc., and I have raised these with T.D.C. Also in attendance were Cllrs. Goggin, Russell and Dixon. Unfortunately, no representative of T.D.C., or the Police was available. |
